Today’s Bible Verse — Proverbs 20:22
«“Do not say, ‘I will pay you back for this wrong!’ Wait for the Lord, and he will avenge you.”
— Proverbs 20:22»
Verse Inspiration
When someone wrongs us, it is natural to want to defend ourselves, win the argument, or get even. However, Proverbs 20:22 teaches us to trust God instead of seeking revenge.
As Christians, we are not called to win every argument or fight every battle. God calls us to walk in humility, patience, forgiveness, love, and self-control. Sometimes, choosing peace and leaving the matter in God’s hands is a greater victory than proving that we are right.
Yahshua is our greatest example. He demonstrated humility, love, patience, and forgiveness even when He was mistreated. His life reminds us that true strength is not always found in fighting back; sometimes it is found in trusting God and allowing Him to deal with injustice.
Whether you are facing conflict in your marriage, family, workplace, church, or community, remember that you do not have to respond to every wrong with anger or revenge.
Instead, let your character speak.
Let your humility attract people to God. Let your patience demonstrate His love. Let your forgiveness show His grace. And let your trust in God give you peace when you have been treated unfairly.
You don’t have to win every battle. Trust God to fight the battles that belong to Him.
This is the heart of Christian living: choosing God’s way over retaliation and allowing His peace to guide our responses.
Today’s Prayer
Heavenly Father,
You created me in Your own image. Help me to become a valuable treasure in Your hands. Make me a true disciple who attracts others to You and helps win souls through the way I live.
Help me to walk in humility, love, patience, forgiveness, and self-control. Teach me not to seek victory through arguments or revenge, but to trust You when I am wronged.
Today, wash me and make me clean. Purify my heart, renew my mind, and help me reflect Your character in everything I do.
When I am hurt, help me choose peace. When I am offended, help me choose forgiveness. When I am treated unfairly, help me wait patiently for You.
May my life bring people closer to You and may my words and actions reflect the character of Yahshua.
Amen.
Christian Reflection
Before responding to someone who has wronged you, pause and ask:
“Am I responding from anger, or am I responding in a way that reflects God’s character?”
Choose peace. Choose humility. Choose forgiveness. Leave revenge to God.
